Welcome from the program chair
Do not miss Ress 2026 in Chicago!

I am so excited to welcome you all to our ReSS 2026! This year, our program committee designed a meeting replete with cutting-edge resuscitation science and networking opportunities. It all begins with a welcome reception Friday night at the River Roast on the Chicago River. Both Saturday and Sunday morning kickoff with breakfast resusci-learning devoted to hypothermia and EEG interpretation. Saturday afternoon closes with an intimate abstract session and reception featuring expert-moderated paper and digital posters, hors d’oeuvres and cash bar.
The main sessions are packed with content spanning prehospital care, including a partnership with NAEMSP, basic, translational and clinical sciences in the settings from airplanes to ICUs, a reassessment of how we do clinical trials and a panel discussion examining the shifting political landscape and its impact on resuscitation science. Beyond the plenary content is one of our most robust sets of oral abstracts, including six high impact late-breaking clinical trials, novel technologies and innovative clinical and translational reports. The learning doesn’t end at lunchtime when the Japanese Circulatory Society session contrasts survivor trajectories and post-ECPR care across our nations, and the Women in Resuscitation and Young Investigator lunches provide unique networking opportunities.
Networking and early career offerings are a major emphasis this year. Mentors and mentees will have unique meet-up opportunities in our “Speakeasy” lounge, and senior mentors will wear “Talk to me about” buttons to signify availability for collaborative discussions. Plenary moderators will highlight abstracts related to each presentation, and QR codes will permit easy localization of posters and presentation times to build our community of senior and junior resuscitation scientists. Your ReSS badge seamlessly gets you access to all of Scientific Sessions as well.
There’s never been a better year to attend ReSS!
Best wishes,
